The true spirit of Christmas is in giving. Indeed, the Konghuanians celebrated their Christmas season with an act of generosity and thoughtfulness. Last December 18-19, 2015, Kong Hua School had its annual Share-a-Joy Program which aims to help other families by giving noche Buena packages, comprised of the goods that Konghuanians contribute for certain adopted communities.

On December 18, during the students’ Christmas party, several noche Buena packages were given to some of the families of Logpond, Kauswagan during their Christmas party in the KHS preschool building. On the next day, the other noche Buena packages were scheduled to be distributed to the Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) and children of Taytay, El Salvador, at the KHS Pastoral Center. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, the packages were turned over to Sister Mary of the said center, and it was then given away on December 21 (Monday). Moreover, the noche Buena packs were also handed out to the neighborhoods beside Kong Hua School.

The students from grades 1-10 took part of this program by contributing different kinds of goods depending of is designed to each level. Aside from that, some of the faculty and staff helped in packing and distributing the noche Buena packs in the said areas.

To conclude, it is evident that the Konghuanians are living up the core values of love, fidelity, integrity, and wisdom even up to this day. In this program, the students do not only learn the value of giving, but they also learn to reach out and touch other people’s lives. As they keep on spreading the light, they will surely use these values in their future endeavors as they fulfill their mission to become agents of social transformation.
